Sanctuary Vacation Rentals

Annee, of Sanctuary Vacation Rentals, called Vermont Pro Painting in for a major overhaul of one of her great properties in Vermont. We went right to work clearing out the rooms, covering everything, replacing sheet rock, repairing major cracks, detailing, addressing stains, and ultimately painting a large majority of the interior ceilings and walls to make the property look like new again.
The Vermont Pro painting team worked through the night to give this gem of a property a professional paint job.  When we were done, Annee's Vermont Sanctuary looked great!  Thanks Annee.

You can visit Annee's company and some of her other amazing properties and book your next vacation.

A fun little blur shot taken during the prep process.

Parker Dream House Underway

Vermont Pro employee Trevor Audet seals up the entrance doors to Jim and Kristen Parker's brand new home with four coats of Satin Gloss. The Parker's home is currently under construction. We are looking forward to sharing the end results with you in the Spring/Summer of 2012 as this contemporary design receives a classic "country" inspired color scheme.

Maclay Architects

As the 2011 exterior painting season came to a close, Vermont Pro was able finish this monster of a lead paint remediation project. Maclay Architects, located along Route 100 in Waitsfield, was a two year project that saw an intensive amount of lead removal. The building itself was about 20 years overdue for a paint job and a good amount of siding had to be replaced, as seen in the above image.  But with the great effort and attention to detail put forth by the Vermont Pro paint crew, this historic building once again shines.  Thanks Bill and Alex!
The siding color is Philadelphia Cream (Ben Moore MoorGlo flat), trim was Chalk White (Ben Moore MoorGlo) and the door is Evergreen (Ben Moore Soft Gloss).  If you want to see more lead prep in action, please refer to last year's posts!

Tufts University - President's House. Part One

Vermont Professional Painting was brought in for our second project with D.H. Bardes, Inc. and the Duffy Design Group to finish and paint a completely renovated apartment for the president of Tufts University. This intensive project had to be completed in one month, which entailed refinishing and painting the eleven room apartment - top to bottom - including extensive sheet rock repair. The clients were thrilled with the dramatic overhaul.
The living room (above) and dinning room walls (below) are painted in a Ben Moore washable flat "Spanish Olive." The ceiling, trim, and bookshelves are painted in Ben Moore "Dove Wing," while the inlay on the bookshelf doors is "White Sand."

The foyer ceiling was skim coated, primed, and coated twice with "White Dove" flat Ben Moore. The trim is painted with "Dove Wing" semi-gloss and the door is Ben Moore "Black," in a high-gloss finish. The walls were prepped with Zinsser Universal wallcovering prior to wallpapering.

The kitchen received a completely new ceiling that was sound-proofed prior to installation. The ceiling is coated in "Cloud Cover" flat, the walls are "Solstice" washable flat, and the trim is "Cloud Cover" semi-gloss.
More images from this project coming soon!

Mr & Mrs. Clayton

Vermont Professional Painting was able to help the Clayton family make their home look like new again. After roughly 20 years since the last paint job, the exterior of this home was in need of a very thorough top to bottom paint job and exterior repairs, which ultimately gave way to a beautiful end result.
The crew put incredible effort into this project, through the heat of summer. The project included replacing entire sections of wall, replacing clapboards, stripping and sanding the building, re-glazing all of the storm windows, priming and painting the building, stripping and staining all of the decks, painting the roof, and finally washing all of the windows. All and all, the Vermont Professional Painting employees were very happy with the result, and, most importantly, our customers were thrilled!
The siding is painted with California "Nu-white" and the trim is "Ever-green." The roof is coated with Ben Moore Ironclad "Grey," and the decks have a combination of clear natural stain on the front and oak stain on the rear.

Without further adieu

I apologize for the lapse in updating the site. It came to my attention the other day, courtesy of my beautiful wife, that Vermont Pro Painting has had some very cool projects going on this winter and I have not posted any of them.

In the above image, Vermont Pro Painting's Dylan and Carson prime a new build with California "Fresh Coat," which, at $16 dollars a gallon, is a very affordable latex-based primer that lays on a little thicker than the average latex primer, covering nicely. More exciting stuff coming from this particular project soon.

Bringing Life to that Unused Space in Your House

Jenny had an extra room, about the size of large walk-in closet, that was relatively dull and unused. With a little bit of sheet rock and floor repair, and a new color scheme, this closet transformed into a nice little office/study space.

One of the difficult parts of this project was deciding on a color scheme. With only one northerly facing window, we were somewhat limited with our color choices because blues (original color Jenny desired) do not react well with northern light. Reds and yellows were too overstimulating/lively for the space. Browns were out, because the apartment had two rooms already painted in shades of brown.

The final color was perfect, as you can see. We decided on Martha Stewart's Sultana which is a nice green with several shots of yellow in it. The end result was applied in a matte finish and gave the space a warm and airy feeling while also having a calm and sophisticated feel to it. Perfect for any study!
