Harwood Union High School

The high school was undergoing the installation of a new security system and needed VT Pro to install a new exterior wall with a security panel built into it.  Everything went smoothly and we are glad to be a part of providing the students and teachers with a safer environment.

Restoration Almost Complete.

Almost done with the Brauer's Restoration.  This great, and extensive, project required rebuilding entire sections of the home.  From window building to replacing sheeting, insulating, clapboards and trim Mike and Stefan can be seen cranking out the work.

REcover Green Roofs & VT PRO Construction

Vermont Pro Construction is working with REcover Green Roofs of New England to offer a very unique and sustainable roofing alternative for residential and commercial spaces. Our aim is to provide our Vermont-based customers with energy efficient, well-designed, and environmentally-thoughtful roofing options that allow them to utilize their current roof or patio space in ways not commonly seen in Vermont.

Brendan Shea and the REcover team offer a great product that we are strongly encouraging our customers to consider for both new and old designs. Visit REcover Green Roofs to see more.

We have an exciting project in the pipeline and look forward to showcasing the work soon.

Historical Restoration Underway.

The Vermont Pro construction and paint crews are underway restoring the Brauer's beautiful colonial farm house in Warren, Vermont.  This intensive project requires lead paint remediation, siding and trim replacement (of both classic and decorative trim), insulating and flashing windows for an airtight and watertight seal, and more. Once Vermont Pro has completed the project, we will be sure to showcase the end result on our blog, and we look forward to turning over an amazing product to the Brauer's to enjoy for years to come.

Baby Gap Ad - Happy Birthday Skylar Parker

As a little thank you from Vermont Pro, I took a couple of shots for the Parker family. Their son Skylar celebrated his first birthday on Father's day and clearly took center stage in every shot.

Deck Building Continues

After jacking up the deck last year and installing new footings and supports, the O'Halloran's decided to have VT PRO go one step further and build them new seating and railings.  Without completely tearing apart the deck we were able to use the supports from the old seating and design a new railing and seating system that fit the house.

Thanks O'Hallorans always a pleasure working with you.

Shower Door Install: VT Pro Constrction

Having recently completed a full bathroom renovation for Marty and Susan this past fall, they decided to have us back to install a nice shower door, which would help show off the beautiful Travertine stone tiled (natural stone) shower walls.  In the images below Mike is working away to prep and finish off the door installation.

Planning note: When considering your next shower door rain guard, which is a filmed coating over the interior surfaces that repels water and does not leave a streaky residue, is worth every penny.

Energy efficient windows: time to get rid of those leaky old windows!

Tim and his family had some leaking windows in their home that were in need of replacement since the 80's ... the day they were installed, Ha!  The Vermont Pro Construction division was happy to help tighten up the house with well installed, sealed and insulated, low-e high efficiency Integrity windows.

As repeat customers we wanted to go a step beyond giving our client a new window with simple box trim (prior trim), ordinary is boring! So we decided to have some fun with the trim and add multiple layers and give the window a nice weight .... something they will be able to enjoy for many years to come.

Thanks Tim!

Isles Bathroom Remodel

Chris and Betsy have an older Vermont farm house that was in need of a bathroom remodel.  When they came to the Vermont Pro Construction team they were interested in an extensive overhaul top to bottom, with one goal .... a classy southwestern inspired bathroom.  Done!

The bathroom was completely gutted and turned into a thing of beauty.  Over the course of the project a new ceiling height was projected, new duct work and insulation was installed, new subfloor laid ... complete with radiant heating, and freshly sheet-rocked.

Isles .... continued

The customer had great tastes and not a single part aspect of this project went overlooked.  From the special order terra-cotta floor tiles to custom order victoria and albert bath this project oozed class!  The tub certainly deserves a special note as it is quite the work of art.  The Ravello Tub, by Victoria and Albert, is a volcanic limestone tub that is designed to be light weight and retain heat three times longer than a porcelain or cast iron tub.

Since completing the project the customers have told us how much they love the bathroom, and we at VT PRO look forward to them enjoying it for many years to come.  Thanks Chris and Betsy

A Distressed Finish

New and clean is not always as nice as you think.

A distressed look, or antiquing, can go along ways in bringing an added dimension to your work by giving it age and character.  With this particular project installing a new threshold to match the existing look I have taken a 5/4 piece of clear pine with a knot and "distressed" it.  Since the client's current flooring is old pine, which is a softer wood, I took the time to scan the house and match some similar wear and tare patterns and marks in my new threshold, think about what dings you might see in a threshold with 100 years of use!  One little trick that I have picked up over the years is when you are looking to replicate an aged pine look Minwax's Golden Pecan stain on new pine can quickly achieve a desirable look ... you will have to decide how many coats it will take based on lighting in the room.

The Abbott Room - The Inn at the Round Barn Farm

The Round Barn had a large pre-Christmas project in store for the Vermont Pro team.  In five weeks they wanted us to completely make over five rooms in time for a Christmas wedding.  Done deal - someone get out the "easy button."  In the first of the projects Stefan is working away in the Abbott room stripping wallpaper, repairing the sheet rock, painting, and installing new fixtures.
