The Waitsfield Inn. Davis Room

The Waitsfield Inn's Davis room was in need of some serious work.  The window which had at one point in time existed where Vickey (the Inn owner along with her husband John) is depicted standing had failed due to a multitude of reasons.  The room was incredibly hot during the summer and cold during the winter - efficiency was an issue.  Both windows in the room were replaced with high-efficieny Marvin double pained glass and the framing in the wall, where Vickey is, had to be re-done and re-insulated.  A smaller window had to be installed to prevent moisture damage for back splash of the sloped roof that is right in front of Vickie in the above image; prior lack of proper preparation had lead to sever rotting.

In order to address the issue of over heating it was discovered that the ceiling/attict space above the room had no way of venting, hence we installed a large vent on the exterior of the building, which almost instantly cooled the room down.  After all of this work was done the walls were completely stripped of the old wall paper (every surface skim coated with a fresh coat of mud, primed, and painted) and new carpet was installed.

In the end John and Vickie got a new room for the in that was more efficient, updated, and not busy.

Thanks again John and Vickie.

Historical Restoration of the Waitsfield Inn

The Vermont Pro team is proud to unveil the recently completed Waitsfield Inn.  The entire team worked around the clock for months to restore this historic gem to its original beauty with a new historic color palette.  The siding was done in the following historic colors all inspired by California's historic color line (siding - historic white, trim - seal blue, and doors - claret red).

A special thank you to John and Vickie Walluck, the owners of the Inn, who my entire crew grew to Love.  They were incredible to work with!  Each and every day John and Vickie would make fresh ice tea during the day and have coffee in the morning for the crew, to say the least my guys are already missing the Inn.

The Waitsfield Inn

Vermont Pro Painting is proud to present some images from "Phase I" of the Waitsfield Inn transformation. The Waitsfield Inn is truly one of Waitsfield Village's most historic landmarks.  Inn owners John and Vickie Walluck (some of the nicest people you will ever come across) came to us in need of an exterior overhaul to make their business stand out.  Prior to the Vermont Pro makeover getting underway, the building had been painted stark white, top to bottom.  In doing some research, we found a vintage picture of the Inn from what looked to be the 1930's, which depicted a brilliantly white building contrasted with dark trim (it was a black and white photo, of course).

After getting to know the Walluck family and the great things they are doing with the business, I suggested using California Paint's historic color line.  After showing the Wallucks some color samples and mulling over the choices together, we decided to go with Historic White, Nantucket Blue trim and accents, and Claret Red on the doors. I strongly felt that these colors reflected the Walluck family's warm and inviting nature, while also complimenting the historic beauty of the Inn.

The project from start to finish will include painting the entire Inn, replacing several large and small decks, installing 17 new high efficiency windows, and blowing out a back wall of the Inn to install a larger window and new insulation in one of the rooms.

Below are some of the prep pictures to better illustrate the intensive transformation process.

Thanks John and Vickie!
